My experience at Avatar was truly amazing and life changing! I got more done in a 30 day period than at other place that I've stayed for 6 months. Every single staff member is devoted to helping any addict or alcoholic walking through the door that is broken, beat up, and struggling to survive a life in addiction. The service and accommodations at Avatar are well above and beyond what you see in pictures or read in other reviews. Of course the single rooms, phones and laptops, 5-star cuisine, brand new gym or any other materialistic thing is great. Although the services you get from these people is top-notch, and words cannot truly explain what I would try to say so I'll give an example. The day before I was due to discharge, my dog was dying. I talked to Steve who got me approved to see my dog before he was put to sleep. That's the type of service and accommodation that will always have me coming back to Avatar if I ever need help again! If rehabilitation and treatment centers would be categorized by status, I would definitely place Avatar as Elite. This facility offers the services available. The therapists are well-vetted, and experienced to offer the best possible guidance for your long-term recovery efforts. From housekeeping, to the kitchen staff, the technicians, nurses, doctors, and administrators, no need goes unmet. You have access to food 24/7 and the freedom to smoke whenever you please. They offer off-site activities, and there is plenty to do on-site. Not to mention the state of the art gym on the premises. My favorite part, they even have single bed rooms…this was the cherry on top for me, but the icing was that on Friday nights in the late evening they order everyone pizza and on Saturdays it’s Chinese food! Best treatment facility I've ever attended. Resort among the rest of the competition. Nowhere else in New Jersey are the same type of accommodations offered without you having to pay extra cash, but that's not even the best part of Avatar. The best part is dealing with the staff no matter the department. Everyone is so friendly, nice, and welcoming, which makes it easier for you to settle into treatment. They have multiple therapists with their own preferred style and personality, so someone who you can definitely mesh with. I came from the streets hustling for everything I have and trusted no one. I left Avatar with more than what I came in with because of Avatar's family program, my family decided to give me a chance and blessed me with materialistic things along the way. I'm leaving now feeling like I can trust people again, albeit people on the same page. I want to thank the owner Pinal for allowing me to stay because I wasn't easy to deal with in the very beginning. Thank you Alex the tech, for always taking care of anything I needed promptly. Thank you to nursing for helping me get through my rough detox. Last, but not least, I want to thank Andrew for all the motivating conversations and taking us to activities and getting us haircuts. It made me feel human again. Avatar is lucky to have you. I have nothing but absolutely wonderful things to say about Avatar, it's program and all the wonderful staff that made a huge difference in my life. I wish I could write another review for everything else I'm thankful and grateful for, but this will have to do. Coming here saved my life. Place is a disaster and reviews are paid to be 5 stars. What detox gives phones to patients in beginning stages. Psychiatrists and doctors do not have serious degrees and most are contractors. You'll see what I mean. All reviews are from days to couple of months and how long has it been operating? Right there should tell you something. I’ve been to numerous rehabs over the course of my addiction, and I can honestly say Avatar has been the best of them all. The way staff treats you the minute you walk through the door, and throughout your entire stay is very heartwarming and welcoming. I have trust issues due to my actions and trauma in addiction and I’ve come to learn that I can trust certain people at Avatar that ultimately help me make the best decisions for my recovery plans moving forward. My therapist Michelle has been a rock of stability and helped me set up goals in life upon discharge. This place is so great that she’s not even the only one. Every staff member plays their part in your treatment experience here at Avatar. The medical staff make sure you detox safely and with as much comfort as possible. The cleaning staff disinfect throughout the entire day, keeping this place as clean and neat as you see in the pictures. The chefs make 5-star food themselves and should probably open their own restaurant at this point. But all thanks go to the owner Pinal for opening such a wonderful place for addicts and people suffering with mental health issues. The rest of your staff follow suit and treat us all with kindness,  respect, a welcoming heart, and most importantly, they treat us like human beings. They don’t judge us for our past! Avatar is the only rehab I’d ever consider coming back to and I strongly suggest you come here if you’re in need of substance abuse or mental health help. I was here previously and ran away to relapse. I was fortunate enough that Avatar was willing to welcome me back with open arms, and try to help me put my life back on track and living a life of recovery. The accommodations are better than every other rehab I’ve been to and much better than how most people live out in the streets. After detox, you have the ability to get your own single room, and be able to take care of self-care needs like haircuts and getting your nails done. A lot of the services offered here is an afterthought at almost every other rehab. Even if you were to ask, they would deny. Most of the stuff that Avatar allows you to do for yourself for personal betterment, other facilities wouldn’t allow. I can’t even name a single negative thing about this place and I am so grateful at how everyone, and I mean everyone, came around to support me and try to get me back on the right path. I don’t have these type of relationships in my everyday personal life, and was lucky enough to have it here at Avatar! This is by far the best detox I’ve ever been to for mental health and drug addiction. The staff are absolutely amazing and really care about the patients.
